Joe works as an accompanist, conductor and animateur with choirs of all ages and abilities, in the UK and beyond.

Joe's work with choirs is based on his firm belief that choral singing should be inclusive and accessible to everyone! His choir sessions are fast-paced and fun, and his aim is that everyone should have the chance to sing music of various styles with technique and confidence.

Joe is the artistic director of The Collective, a maverick vocal ensemble composed of actors, singers, musical directors and others working in the arts.

Since 2012 Joe has been the musical director of the Barnes Community Choir, a non-auditioned choir in South-West London. He is also the associate conductor of Singing with Friends, a dementia-friendly choir at Wigmore Hall. Joe is a regular accompanist / associate conductor of All Sing! Harrow Road Community Choir

Other groups Joe has worked with are listed here >>

He also runs one-off choral singing workshops for ensembles on request.

Barnes Community Choir was founded in 2011 as a non-auditioned choir for singers of all ages, backgrounds and abilities who share a love of song and an enthusiasm for meeting people and making music.

The choir sings contemporary choral works, pop, jazz, gospel and musical theatre, all of which are learnt without sheet music in fun and informal Thursday evening rehearsal sessions. They perform in and around Barnes - in churches, pubs, community spaces and even street corners - as well as in other venues throughout London, e.g. the South Bank Centre, Tate Modern and Young Vic.
